I AM WORT IT

I love makeup. Though I don't wear much makeup myself,

I love seeing the transformation makeup can do to people's appearance. A few touch-ups can create a dramatic change. It is like magic! Makeup can be a great way to play and express yourself.

So why am I creating projects like 'Naked Face Photography Project', 'Shameless Nature' and now 'I am worth it'?

When people start to hide behind makeup and can't leave the house without it, then it becomes an issue. When the beauty industry starts to invent imaginary problems in our appearance to sell us their solution, it becomes a real problem. When our looks are linked with our worth, we will fight a fight we can never win. No matter how much we try to fit the beauty standards, there will be always something more to hide, cover-up or improve. When we receive a message that we are inadequate and need to be fixed 24/7 this affects our self-worth.

The thing is, we can't hide from this message. No matter education and intelligence, we still fall for it. This message doesn't come just from advertisements. This message comes from your mum, who has got the same cute freckles as you do, who tries to cove them up and expresses, loudly, how much she hates them. The message of your own flaws comes from your colleague, who seems to look younger each year thanks to plastic surgeries. The message that you need to be fixed comes from your best friend, who seems to do a juice cleansing all year around. Edited, filtered, airbrushed images in your social media feed tell you what's wrong with your looks.

Now, stop and reflect on what message are you sending to your daughter, friends, colleagues. Are you contributing to unrealistic beauty standards?

We need to see more people who look like us with all the perceived flaws.

Liberate yourself from unrealistic beauty constraints by embracing your natural appearance, this will benefit others as much as yourself.

How can you do that?

  • unfollow social media accounts that make you feel inadequate

  • take unedited selfies

  • watch your language when you talk about your looks

  • give others compliments unrelated to their appearance

  • be kind and compassionate to yourself

  • embrace changes in your body

  • interact more with people who have similar views on body image

  • participate in projects like I am WORTH it, Shameless Nature...

What can we achieve when we stop worrying about our looks 24/7? How much energy will we have to do things we love? We can help each other by creating positive change.

"I am worth it" is a workshop inspired by Kate Winslet's video.
I am calling for women who love wearing makeup without hiding behind it.
Have you seen 'before&after' make-overs? Well, "I am worth it" is a reverse version of 'before&after'. I am looking for women who want to send the message that impeccable appearance doesn't define your worth. I am looking for women who are brave enough to believe they are worthy without makeup. I am looking for women who want to help other women to see their worth.
This is a small and intimate workshop with a maximum of 10 participants.
Join us for this liberating experience and make a positive change. The profits from the project will be donated to Rize UP.
